IIJ8-02: Study of Unified Power Quality Conditioner for Power Quality Improvement

IIJ8-03:AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF ENGINE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS UNDER CONTROLLED ENGINE TEMPERATURE AND VARIAABLE OPERATING PARAMETERS

Abstract: In the present scenario the S.I. engines being used in automotives by various manufactures are not properly suitable to out climatic condition. As our country is among tropical countries where the variation in the temperature is having very vast range i. e. from 0Ċ to 48Ċ in various regions of the country. Looking in to this vast varying temperature range it is very difficult to say that which temperature is most suited to operating condition of engines and gives us best performance level as for as sfc and brake power is concerned. In my work I have tried to investigate the best option to run the s.i engine and simultaneously to maintain the emission norms. Today research and development in the field of gasoline engines have to face a double challenge: on the one hand, fuel consumption has to be reduced, while on the other hand, ever more stringent emission standards have to be fulfilled. The development of engines with its complexity of in-cylinder processes requires modern development tools to exploit the full potential in order to reduce fuel consumption. There are many strategies for improving fuel economy and reducing exhaust emission. Hydrocarbon emissions (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO). A single cylinder, four stroke, petrol carburetor engine connected to rope brake type dynamometer for loading was adopted to study engine power, fuel economy, engine exhaust emissions of hydrocarbon, oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust. The performance results that are reported include brake power and specific fuel consumption (sfc) as a function of engine temperature; i.e. 50, 60, 70 and 80ºC with varying engine speed of 1500, 2000, 2500, rpm.
IIJ8-04: Area and Energy Efficient Binary Multiplier Implementation on Reconfigurable Logic

Abstract – This paper presents a hardware and power efficient binary multiplier using resource reuse technique. The proposed design uses efficient design of half and full adder circuits which uses less number of logic gates. An array multiplier of n x n needs n rows and n columns of full adder circuits to generate the product term. The proposed design requires only 3 rows of adders to generate the product term. Intermediate product terms are stored in the memory elements (flip flop). As flip flops takes less area and consume less power as compared to adder circuit (combinational circuit), this improves the hardware efficiency and power efficiency of the design. This technique is used to implement a 8 x 8 multiplier and the results are compared with other 8 x 8 array multipliers. Spartan 3 FPGA is used to implement the design. The design is very linear and it can be easily extended to implement large multiplier.

IIJ8-05: A Novel Image Inpainting Technique

Abstract: Image inpainting is the technique of recovering the image with scratches or dust spots and removing an unwanted object or thing from a given image. There are various image inpainting techniques are proposed in literature like- PDE based inpainting technique, Wavelet Transform Based inpainting technique, Texture Synthesis Based inpainting technique, Semi-automatic and Fast inpainting technique, Exemplar and search based inpainting technique and Hybrid inpainting technique. Each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages. In this research paper, we proposed a new exemplar based image inpainting technique that remove an unwanted object or dust spots from a given image and also repair the image efficiently.
